Sunday 12th April 2026 v Herts - Friendly - Home - Won 69 - 64

This afternoon we hosted Herts BC for our first home outdoor friendly of the season and we were looking to get a win following the dissappointment of our first game at Chessvale. The weather was going to play a big part in the game today with the wind affecting many of the bowls, making it difficult to draw close to the jack. Keith Dellar, Pete Titford & Dan Rogers played out a close game throughout until the 17th end when they picked up a 6 to take a 10 shot lead in to the final and and despite dropping a 2 they won 19-11. Jo Titford, Keith Beck and Sam Lincoln also played out a close game and the scores were level at 7-7 after 9 ends however they then lost the next 5 ends. They then picked up 6 shots from the next 3 ends to go in to the last end level at 13-13 and unfortunatley they dropped a single shot to lose 14-13. Sarah Jaycock, John Read & Paul Rogers only won 3 of the first 9 ends however they then managed to pick up 13 shots from the next 5 ends and went on to win 20-17. Heather Kensall, David Cartland and Stuart Churcher were level at 5-5 after 6 ends before dropping a 5 on the next end and were still behing until they picked up a 7 on the 13th end to go 15-14 ahead. Unfortunately they couldn't hold on to the lead and went on to lose 22-17
