Saturday 16th May 2026 v Cheddington - Friendly - Home - Lost 38 - 50

Unfortunately Cheddington could only get 3 triples for this game so 6 of our members had the disappointment of not getting a game however for the 3 triples that did play this was to be a tough afternoon. Sarah Jaycock, Heather Kensall & Bill Caple struggled to get in to their game and they only managed to win 7 ends in the game and ended up losing 19-10. Jo Titford, Michael Meacham & Pete Titford took and early lead and they managed to hold on to that lead and were 16-12 ahead with 2 ends to play and then dropped a 3 and 1 to end up drawing the game 16-16. Marion Bull, Janet Meacham & Malcolm Robins played out a game of 2 halves winning just 1 of the first 11 ends however they managed to win 5 of the remaining ends and ended up narrowly losing by just 3 shots, 15-12

Saturday 2nd May 2026 v Princes Risborough - Friendly - Away - Won 83 - 75

This afternoon we had our first friendly game against Princes Risborough with many of our players having never played there before. Our hosts were very welcoming and everyone appeared to have any enjoyable afternoon in the sunshine. Matthew Crick, Kieran Jaycock & Thomas Jaycock played a very close game and after 10 ends the scores were level at 6-6 however they then picked up a 5 to take a good lead and from there they went on to pick up highest winning rink with a 19-10 victory. Keith Dellar, Ray England & Caryl Collins were also involved in a close games for the first half and were 8-7 up after 10 ends however they then dropped 9 shots from the next 2 ends and then struggled to get back in to the game and ended up losing 23-12. Janet Meacham, Malcolm Robins & Roger Crick got off to a great start going 8-1 ahead after 5 ends however the next 5 ends went the way of Princes Risborough and we then found ourselves 12-11 down. The last 8 ends were shared 4 ends each however we managed to sneak a 19-18 win. Lee Jaycock, Michael Meacham & Stuart Churcher dropped a 5 early in their game however this just seemed to spur them on and they went on to win their game 15-13. Sarah Jaycock, Carol Crick & Bill Caple lost the first 5 ends, all to a single shot however after 10 ends they were 8-7 ahead and they only lost 3 more ends on their way to an 18-11 win.

Sunday 26th April 2026 v Redbourn - Friendly - Away - Won 90-49

This afternoon we were at Redbourn for a 4 triples friendly and this is a game that we usually find tricky with the fast paced green however the green seemed to play much better than expected and there were some good games. Marion Bull, Sue Brown & Dan Rogers played out a tight game throughout and were 7-6 ahead at the halfway stage. The lead continued to change sides and by the 16th end we were 12-11 down and with a couple of players affected by the warm conditions both teams decided to end the game there. Malcolm Robins, Sam Lincoln & Caryl Collins got off to a great start i in their game and took a 12-3 lead at the halfway stage. Their opponents then started to get back in to the game and after 15 ends they had reduced our lead to just 2 shots however we then picked up 5 shots from teh remaining ends to win 19-12. Sarah Jaycock, Ray England & Lewis Fletcher had a game of 2 halves, dropping 15 shots from 5 of the first 9 ends however they then started to fight back and were 16-12 down after 14 ends but the managed to pick up a 6 to take the lead and they then went on to win the game 21-18. In the final game Matthew Crick, Kieran Jaycock & Roger Crick took an early lead and played some great bowls in a game where they were always in control and despite some good bowling from their opponents we picked up 23 shots in a run of 7 winning ends in a row and went on to win the game 39-7. 

Saturday 25th April 2026  v Hazlemere - Friendly - Home - Lost 61-60

This afternoon we welcomed 4 triples from Hazlemere and Marion Bull, Michael Meacham & Stuart Churcher got us off to a great start winning 20-12 on their rink, which included picking up 9 shots from 3 ends. Sarah Jaycock, Caryl Collins & Debbie Horsted played out a close game and despite winning 11 of the ends they only managed to draw 14-14.  Malcolm Robins, Sue Brown & Sam Lincoln shared the ends with their opponents, winning 9 each however they dropped 2 fours in the game and ended up losing 18-12.  Heather Kensall, Janet Meacham & Chris Stewart took the early lead in their game and were 10-4 ahead after 10 ends however they then dropped a 4 and 5 over the next 2 ends and ended up losing 17-14.

Sunday 19th April 2026 v Kitcheners - Friendly - Away - Lost 53 - 84

This afternoons game at Kitcheners was moved from the Saturday at Kitcheners request and thanks to all our members for accomodating the switch at short notice. Carol Crick, Keith Dellar & Pete Titford were our only winning rink and even they only won 7 ends but that included a 6 and two 4s to win 19-14. Jo Titford, Caryl Collins & Lewis Fletcher struggled to come to terms with the green and only managed to win 4 ends during the game, ending up losing 25-5. Sue Brown, Ray England & Dan Rogers were level at 9-9 after 12 ends however they only managed to win 1 more end and ended up losing 25-10. Debbie Horsted, Malcolm Robins and Stuart Churcher played out a close game and after 13 ends they were just 1 shot behind however they then dropped 5 shots from the next 2 ends before getting those 5 shots back from the last 3 ends and they ended up losing 20-19. 

Sunday 12th April 2026 v Herts - Friendly - Home - Won 69 - 64

This afternoon we hosted Herts BC for our first home outdoor friendly of the season and we were looking to get a win following the dissappointment of our first game at Chessvale. The weather was going to play a big part in the game today with the wind affecting many of the bowls, making it difficult to draw close to the jack. Keith Dellar, Pete Titford & Dan Rogers played out a close game throughout until the 17th end when they picked up a 6 to take a 10 shot lead in to the final and and despite dropping a 2 they won 19-11. Jo Titford, Keith Beck and Sam Lincoln also played out a close game and the scores were level at 7-7 after 9 ends however they then lost the next 5 ends. They then picked up 6 shots from the next 3 ends to go in to the last end level at 13-13 and unfortunatley they dropped a single shot to lose 14-13. Sarah Jaycock, John Read & Paul Rogers only won 3 of the first 9 ends however they then managed to pick up 13 shots from the next 5 ends and went on to win 20-17. Heather Kensall, David Cartland and Stuart Churcher were level at 5-5 after 6 ends before dropping a 5 on the next end and were still behing until they picked up a 7 on the 13th end to go 15-14 ahead. Unfortunately they couldn't hold on to the lead and went on to lose 22-17

Thursday 9th April 2026 v Chessvale - Friendly - Away - Lost 66-64

This afternoon we started the new summer season at Chessvale and this ended up a close game although we only won 1 of the 4 rinks, drawing 1 and losing on 2. Heather Kensall, Keith Dellar & Lewis Fletcher got off to a great start winning the first 6 ends to take a 9-0 lead and despite dropping a 2 the next end they then won the next 4 ends to extend their lead to 16-2. They only lost 3 more ends in the game, ending up winning 23-8. Sue Brown, Michael Meacham & Stuart Churcher were involved in a close game throughout until the last 3 ends when they dropped 6 shots and ended up losing 15-10. Janet Meacham, David Catland & Sam Lincoln got off to a slow start losing the first 4 ends and despite starting to pick up shots over the next 10 ends they went in to the last 4 ends just 1 shot behind. They then got in to the lead on the 17th end only to drop 2 shots on the last end to draw 14-14. Keith Beck, Caryl Collins & Dan Rogers were 9-6 ahead after 6 ends and the kept the game close until the 13th end when they were on the wrong side of a hotshot and this knocked their confidence and they ended up losing 29-17.
